Moving Gear from one Team to a different Team

Move Gear from One Organization to Another

Objective

This article explains how to move a gear category from one organization to another so it is available at the intended team or organization level. It helps ensure gear is organized correctly and shared only with the appropriate groups.

  • Determine where the gear currently lives before making any changes.
  • Understand that gear can exist at different organization levels and may be shared across multiple teams.

  • Search for the moved category to ensure it transferred successfully.

  • If the gear was moved to the wrong organization, open the three-dot menu again.
  • Select Move to another organization and choose a different destination.
  • You can move the gear back to Football, to JV Football, or to another eligible organization.
  • If you have school-level access, you may also be able to move it to a different org or sport.

Cautionary Notes

  • Be careful when selecting the destination organization. Moving gear changes who can access it.
  • Only move the correct category. Confirm the item name before clicking move.
  • Access level matters. Some destinations, such as a different org or sport, may only be available to users with higher permissions.
  • Shared gear may become restricted after moving it to a team-specific organization.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Use the search field to quickly find gear by typing part of the item name.
  • Confirm the current organization before moving anything to avoid misplacement.
  • If you manage multiple teams, keep a consistent naming convention for gear categories.
  • After moving, verify the result immediately so corrections can be made right away.
